Organization Overview
The Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group, Inc. (MTDG) is a 501(c) nonprofit holding company dedicated to advancing manufacturing innovation, strengthening industrial competitiveness, and building a more resilient and sustainable manufacturing base. Established in 2020 and headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, MTDG connects industry, government, and academia to accelerate the development and deployment of practical manufacturing solutions.
MTDG’s family of organizations includes the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM), Advanced Manufacturing International (AMI), and Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS). Through NCDMM, MTDG manages America Makes, the national additive manufacturing innovation institute, which advances additive manufacturing technology, education, and industry collaboration. AMI helps small and medium manufacturers adopt accessible digital technologies and also helps Community Colleges secure state funding to build out their manufacturing labs with advanced manufacturing technologies like 3D printing, IoT edge devices, robotics, AR/VR, etc.. IMS facilitates international manufacturing research and collaboration.
Together, these organizations provide expertise in advanced manufacturing, technology integration, program management, workforce development, supply chain management, digital security, and manufacturing engineering. By connecting technical expertise with manufacturers’ operational needs, MTDG helps organizations improve productivity, adopt new capabilities, and translate innovation into practical results that support economic growth and manufacturing competitiveness.
